    Here’s how the topic is added to the page title

    function bp_forums_add_forum_topic_to_page_title( $title ) {
    global $bp;

    if ( $bp->current_action == 'forum' && $bp->action_variables[0] == 'topic' ) {
    if ( bp_has_forum_topic_posts() ) {
    $title .= ' | ' . bp_get_the_topic_title();
    }
    }

    return $title;
    }
    add_filter( 'bp_page_title', 'bp_forums_add_forum_topic_to_page_title' );

    I’m sure you could work something out using bp_get_topic_title. Also, the current component (Groups/Members, whatever) is called to the page title with this code –

    if ( $bp->is_single_item ) {
    $title = ucwords( $bp->current_component ) . ' | ' . $bp->bp_options_title . ' | ' . $bp->bp_options_nav[$bp->current_component][$bp->current_action];

    Not sure how much this helps you, but it’s somewhere in the right direction.

    Okay, I gotcha. In order to place pages before the default buddypress menu tabs, you need to modify your theme’s header.php file. Look for some code that looks like this and paste it just after code that looks something like this <div id="header"><h1 id="logo"><a href=&quot;" title=""></a></h1>

    Now your pages will appear before your buddypress menu items. If there something specific you want, you can just hard code in the header.php file with good ole fashioned html.

    Oh, and that Exclude Page plugin will allow you to easily hide pages you create from being added to the menu.

    1. Go to members/single/profile/edit.php in your theme.
    2. Find and delete this line `

    `
    3. Paste this `

    ` after each instance of this line ` `.

    And it’s a similar sort of process for the register.php – found in the registration folder in your theme.
    Sloppy, but oh well.

    This will probably be the fix you’re looking for – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-sidebar/.

    There are a bunch of different ways to achieve this – but perhaps the easiest would be to install the Exclude Links from Navigation plugin. In the default WP Dashboard write screen, you can assign page orders / parents in the page attributes panel (just below the publish panel). And once the exclude from navigation plugin is installed, you can just check the box if you’d like to remove it from the menu.

    @dubsel Are you using the BuddyPress sidebar plugin? Or perhaps widget logic? If using those plugins still don’t allow you place widgets where you want on the specific pages you want, you could always roll up your sleeves and do some customization with your buddypress theme and what it calls for the sidebar on specific page templates.

    Ah yes, should have known twitter would be useful. Nooow I’m following all those guys. Looking forward to all this newness!

    In an older post on his website – thanks to Google cache – Bowe said – “And I’m also working on a something extremely secret called Infinity, which should make all you BuddyPress lovers really happy!” Ooo wee!

    So I figured it out. If anyone else wants to display a default status, only to the logged-in user on their profile if they have no current activity update, put this code in your member-header.php in your child theme.
    `
    <?php if ( !bp_get_activity_latest_update($user_id = false) && bp_is_my_profile() )
    echo “Oops, you have no current status! Update your status below.”;
    else echo “” ?>
    `

    While the greater minds continue to work on patch or plugin of some sort, I’ve simply added an additional profile drop down field with three member types and added a flyout to my main nav that queries the member directory for their answer to that particular field – “http://www.example.com/members/?s=Member Type X”. Not incredibly useful, but works for a quick sort into categories.

    @norby500 Currently I have this in the blocked activity field – “new_blog_post, new_member, deleted_group_document” Of course the plugin won’t retroactively remove content from the activity stream, it will only work to block new attempts to write those particular activities.

    Not sure. It appears for me under the buddypress admin dropdown as ‘Activity Block’ and it should work for muti-site as well. (I’m running a single installation.) I’m gonna mention the developer, @nuprn1, though he hasn’t been on in months. Perhaps @Bowromir knows…

    Am I getting warmer? The second part of the if – the && empty portion – doesn’t work as the “Update your status” message appears even when there’s an update present.

    @Brooker Hmm, I’m running wp3.1.1/bp 1.2.8 and it seems to still be working fine. I’m blocking blog posts and new member registration without a problem. Obviously the plugin won’t continue to be supported and hasn’t been updated in some time.

    Noooo, it’s still very much wanted. Well, I wasn’t using buddypress back when this topic first started, but this could be a powerhouse of a plugin for lots of communities. I’ve been working on a teacher resource site for some time as part of my job with a state history agency and this plugin (and the extended features) would be verrry valuable. I’ve spent hours and hours trying to extend other plugins myself without too much success. Since the community I’m building is focused around user submitted documents – that ability to rate those documents through coordination with BP Forum Attachments, BP Group Docs, and BP Media would be awesome.

    Have you tried re-installing bbPress in the Forums Setup menu (under the buddypress menu) in the dashboard? What versions of WP/BP are you using?

    @arhistoryhub

    Easiest way is using the BuddyPress Block Activity Stream Types plugin by Rich Fuller – https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-block-activity-stream-types/

    Could you be more specific? Buddypress is set up to integrate with bbPress, so I assume you mean plugins to enhance this existing set up.
    I’m a fan of Forum Attachments and Group Forum Extras – both of which are available through the extend/plugin directory on this site.

    Would it be possible to give permission to create events to all Subscribers (new and old) ? I’d like to enable event creation by default for all logged in BP users. I’ve fiddled around with wp.php without any success… Any ideas? Thanks @kunalb! Looking forward to the next version!

    https://codex.buddypress.org/home/

    The docs are fairly thorough, and assuming you’ve correctly installed buddypress and bbPress forum integration, the forums should appear along with all the other newly created pages – i.e. – example.com/forum, example.com/groups. If these pages are not appearing in your navigation, your wordpress theme may not be compatible with wordpress. In this case you could switch to a theme designed for BP or work to make your current theme compatible.

    Also, make sure these components are enabled in the buddypress admin dashboard settings. If you feel you’ve done everything correctly, you should be able to create new groups by going to yoursite.com/groups and clicking the new group button that appears at the top of the page.

    I’m also a bit of a noob, but I’d like to recommend using the browser plug-in Firebug as a means to quickly learn css. http://getfirebug.com/
