In reply to: How to Optimize and Maximize BuddyPress Performance
This is all great info. One additional sugestion is using the plugin “Use Google Libraries”
https://wordpress.org/plugins/use-google-libraries/
I’m still in the developmental stages of my site, so I have no other speed optimization plugins active, but this one by itself sped up page load times by double.
Another (That I think may be a feature in some of the cacheing plugging mentioned here…) is “Scripts To Footer”.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/scripts-to-footerphp/
I’ve had a little trouble with this one because some of my scripts need to be loaded inline with the page, but it speed up visual page load time significantly. But make sure you check your site for functionality after (Google Map Plugins, ‘Fancy Box’ animation, etc.).
In reply to: Preventing Double Submit? (Messages)Excellent! Glad to here it’s fixed.
If you get a chance to test the double submit on your site, let me know how it turns out.
When I tried to double submit here, it looks like bbPress had a failsafe to prevent it. See the screen shot here.
So, does anyone know if there is a away to do something similar with BuddyPress or WordPress? Thanks!
In reply to: Preventing Double Submit? (Messages)Sorry this is out of curiosity… going to double click the submit to see if it happens here too.
In reply to: Preventing Double Submit? (Messages)Hi @NicholasDeSuza,
No luck yet. My problem is caused by impatient users clicking the submit button multiple times if the page reload lags. The only solutions I’ve found are far in excess of my capabilities to implement.
I did do a search for your situation and found in most cases it was related to a theme or plugin conflict. I hate recommending this, but it may worth switching to a default theme and shutting down none essential plugins to see if that’s it.
VICTORY!!!
Hiding in plain sight was,
div class="register-section" id="blog-details-section"Which is the CSS #ID in the BuddyPress register.php file (Both files). So, to hide the “Blog Details” during registration I added,
#blog-details-section { display: none; }to my Child Themes style.css, which solved this lingering problem beautifully.
Hi @matthew.hout, Did you try Buddybosses Second idea? That’s what it sounds like the problem is. After you install BuddyPress you need to assign certain BuddyPress Pages to WordPress Pages (Activity Streams, Site Tracking, Members, Register and Active, are the pages depending on your Component Settings). To set these pages go to; Settings -> BuddyPress -> Pages. I don’t remember if BuddyPress creates the WordPress pages for you. You may have the create a blank page for each yourself. After you connect the WordPress pages to BuddyPress, I’d imagine it will start working.
In reply to: Delete Selected not working@nishant_official I can confirm your fixed worked great!
I cringed when modifying the core file outside of a child theme but needed the fix. Previously the delete link was redirecting me to the top of the page by adding “#” to the end of the page URL. Added the change you outlined in your ticket and it work flawlessly. Thanks for taking the time to look into and create a ticket!
BuddyPress 1.9.2, WordPress with Multisite 3.8.1.
In reply to: [Resolved] Disable users activation emailI know this is a little old, but I’ve seen other questions linked to this answer.
I tried the above suggestion and it took down the site. All pages read;
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/(Cpanl-User-Name-Retracted)/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php on line 3Paul do you have any other variations that might work or has anyone had any success?
Running WordPress Multisite and BuddyPress.
Thanks!
