I had a problem with a xxxxxxlive.com address–as @liveview said, it never appeared in the junk folder even. But then I had no problem with a xxxxxxhotmail.com address a few days later. So it’s not even entirely consistent for me. I have yet to create more accounts to do further testing.

What exactly do you mean by members stuff?

And are you editing theme files (like header.php) or just wanting to link from within, say, a WordPress page or blog post?

You can definitely adjust the first one of those without being a CSS or PHP wizard, just by editing header.php. I suggest you create a Child Theme first.

There are also some good SEO plugins out there, although I don’t know what works with BuddyPress. Hopefully somebody else’ll chime in here.

Use the unified search here on BuddyPress.org, and you’ll find some good discussions, including this one which sends you to BuddyDev. With a bit of elbow grease and tweaking, you should be good to go. (Whether it’s the “best” way is up for discussion, of course.)

Actually, no, I think that’d be the file for MU blogs, probably. You’re still talking about the main site blog; it’s just not the website’s home page. Anyway, I still think that other thread will help you out.

Except instead of copying over and editing the site’s main index.php, make sure you find the right file for your theme (in bp-default, that’d be the index.php file in the blogs directory–probably the same for BP Widget Theme, but I haven’t looked at it).

If you didn’t back up your files, check with your host. Some (like GoDaddy) do automatic backups periodically, so you might be able to recover your old files.

@meetsos, if you haven’t solved the problem yet:
I believe you should be able to create a functions.php file in the Randy Candy theme. (Or go one better and create your own child theme based on Randy Candy, so you can benefit from published updates without losing your modifications.)
