Is there a way to get the best of both worlds? I only have a small handful of custom templates so if possible I’d like to keep running as a child theme and only change what I need.

Thanks – that helps a bit I guess. I now understand why it’s there, but I’m not convinced it should be added to all fields by default. Perhaps there should be an option in the field setup screen.

Thanks for that – as I said though – I have that done already. My question was more about the reasons why it’s there.
