Thanks @mercime! I will try out pcwriter’s tutorial and let you know how it works for me. Again, you have been awesome!
@mercime, thanks for the reply. Yes, this is somewhat related with my request on the other post. In this case, the menu position being the different factor. I appreciate the support, I truly do.
@mercime, still hoping you can help me out.
Thanks.
@mercime, your solution works for my site. However, I’dd like to add the menu as a child menu. Looking at the source code, I know this much information about the parent menu (id=”menu-item-822″). How would I proceed? Please assist.
Thanks.
@mercime, again thanks for the quick reply. I copied the following lines of code to my theme’s sidebar.php (very bottom of the page), but nothing happens meaning the login form doesn’t show on the sidebar. Is there a specific location in the sidebar.php file to add it?
What i meant by top menu login option is having a member login menu that would take the registered users to a login form similar to the form on the sidebar. Hope that makes sense. Below is the code i copied to my theme’s sidebar:
[EDIT – please use pastebin.com to post long blocks of code. ~~ Mercime]
Thanks!
That seems to have fixed the alignment problem. Now, one more question if I may. How do I include a BP login in the top menu of my theme and a BP login form in my sidebar as a widget?
Again, thanks!
Thanks mercime! I believe that version 1.7 beta will get me closer to a resolution.
Hugo,
I got it! This topic at https://buddypress.org/support/topic/using-1-7-and-need-help-with-template-layout/ did it for me. Uninstalled the main theme, deleted the files, then re-inistalled.
Hugo,
This below potion of the overview has yet to make sense to me.
“Additionally to keep things neat & tidy you can keep your custom parent template file ‘community.php’ in these folders as well rather than your theme root. You may override the css by adding a folder /css/ to your theme root if you then, either, copy buddypress.css from /bp-legacy/ or create a new file named buddypress.css this file will be used instead of the buddypress version.”
Here’s my interpration of it: I can copy my theme’s css file into BP’s activity folder to override the BP template. Is this correct?
Hugo, you are my Victor Hugo! You are making life acceptable for a “Miserable” like myself. I just downloaded the 1.7 version and working on alignment now. http://www.ppua.net/member-directory/ still looks unhappy but I’m trying to fix it now. Other suggestions are welcome!
Thanks Hugo! The desperation comes with a new deadline being assigned to complete the task. I will give this a try. Were you able to take a look at the code provided. Any quick ideas what could cause the member list page to unfit in the theme template?
Again, thanks!
Anyone? getting a little desperate here.
