Oops, yeah, you’ll need to remove the parenthesis before get_blog_option in both of those.
I don’t know about the blog class thing. Try without changing it and see what happens.

In bp-blogs.php, change 379 from
if ( (int)get_blog_option( $blog_id, 'blog_public' ) || !bp_core_is_multisite() ) {
toif ( (get_blog_option( $blog_id, 'blog_public' ) > 0 || !bp_core_is_multisite() ) {
Also, change 427 fromif ( (int)get_blog_option( $recorded_comment->blog_id, 'blog_public' ) || !bp_core_is_multisite() ) {
toif (…

Boone Gorges posted on the forum topic bpGroups – BuddyPress Plugin – Fatal Error in the group Installing BuddyPress: 14 years ago
bpGroups is not needed now that bbPress is integrated into BP forums. Delete the plugin files, then go to Dashboard > BuddyPress > Forum Setup to set up forums.

Boone Gorges posted on the forum topic BP System Report Error Message in the group Third Party Components & Plugins: 14 years ago
You can delete lines 372-379 in the plugin, which will get rid of the first error. It was meant for testing but I forgot to take it out. The second error is due to some crappy math functions I wrote. I’m going to completely revamp the plugin math, but I can’t really do it for […]

+1 @travel-junkie – I learned whatever I know about paginate_links() by seeing how BP uses it.

Boone Gorges started the forum topic Displaying forum topic tags in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years ago
You can enter tags on your forum topics but they don’t actually show up anywhere in the default theme. Here’s a little code (mostly lifted from the Kakumei theme that comes with bbPress) that you can put into your theme’s groups/single/forum/topic.php where you want forum topics to appear:
$topic ) ); ?> < ?php printf(__('No tags yet.'),…

Boone Gorges posted on the forum topic Can you run multiple profile loops in single/profile-loop.php ? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years ago
Hi @pollyplummer. You have basically got the right idea, but there are a few problems. First, your check for usermeta is not formatted correctly. See https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_usermeta for get_usermeta syntax. In any case, get_usermeta gets stuff from the wp_usermeta table, and I used it as an example in my code to give you…[Read more]

Boone Gorges posted on the forum topic Support HTML Emails in the group Invite Anyone: 14 years ago
@stas do you have a sense of just how much more overhead it takes to send out HTML emails? I know it probably depends a lot on the kind of markup you use (and whether you use images), but do you have a sense of how much memory, bandwidth, etc would be used if you switched […]

Boone Gorges posted on the forum topic Filtering activities by recorded date in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years ago
In the past I have done this by grabbing a large number of activities with bp_has_activities, and iterate over the items with foreach( $activities->activities as $activity). For each $activity, check the time. Once they’re older than 24 hours, chuck the rest of $activities->activities. Not ideal, and not really good for efficiency (since you end…[Read more]

Use paginate_links() https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/paginate_links. It’s not very easy to use (IMHO) but it’s better than doing it from scratch.

Boone Gorges posted on the forum topic Desired: Plugin Enhancements for "BP Group Management" and User BP Profile in the group Creating & Extending: 14 years ago
Hi @becca37.
(a) Yes, that’s what “kick and ban” does. I used that terminology because that’s what’s built into BP. It just means that removed members cannot reapply for membership (I think). I could probably build something that simply removed a member from a group. Maybe in the next version.

@hnla. I have been using this setup on a production site for a coulple days in order to beta test and it’s been working ok for me. You are right that ass_hide_email_options is a terrible, terrible thing to do, but that’s not because it traverses the DOM incorrectly (though maybe it does). The problem is that […]

@batmoo Thanks for the link. I will definitely check this out. @stas I personally agree with most of what’s on that page. I am not a fan of HTML email. However, at this point probably 90-95% of clients are able to view such email, so it would be nice to give them the choice. I wouldn’t implement […]

Boone Gorges posted on the forum topic Can you run multiple profile loops in single/profile-loop.php ? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years ago
Inside of the while( bp_profile_groups() ) loop for each member, check to see if bp_the_profile_group_name() is one that should be displayed to that particular user. In other words, put the template markup inside of a big conditional:
if ( bp_the_profile_group_name() == 'awesome' && get_usermeta( $bp->loggedin_user->id, 'awesome_user' ) ) { //…
