    mercime,

Thank you for your feedback. I went through the criteria for steps before installing and I fit the bill as far as the criteria to check before activating BuddyPress. Everything was working beautifully until I migrated my site to a Dedicated server. As far as other functionality, everything else works with ease and to be expected with BuddyPress.

I “soft launched” my site yesterday and have about 20 or so users, so it’s not a problem. But if you recommend anything, that would be great.

In the interim, I am going to reinstall first, the buddypress and deactivate the additional plugins that push buddypress to see if there is a plugin that isn’t playing nicely. Also, please feel free to take a look around (“the strength” is my friends list and “beerstrong activity” is the activity list”) and perhaps you may notice the way it’s behaving, if there’s an issue.

I appreciate your patience with me. Thank you.

    Hugo,
My sincerest apologies. I am embarrassed to have been so abrasive and adamant about my issue. Looking at the post and the manner of which they were posted is not me. So again, thank you for responding and understand that I have taken note and will be more patient in the future.

Being said, I have the latest WP and the latest BuddyPress installed. I did install through the one click installation. I purchased the “Salutation” theme from Parallelus and before I migrated my site to a dedicated server I was able to create groups and forums as a user. I will go through each plugin associated with BuddyPress and assure there isn’t anything I missed.

    I will post me result.

    Thank you again, Hugo.

Hey guys, this is beautiful feedback!

QUICK QUESTION! I’m desperate. I am learning more and more about WordPress and how to fix issues, but I am stuck.

I just migrated my site over to a Dedicated server and the process was a bit tough. I have everything buttoned up now, the site is running well (fast) but the only problem I am having is that I am not able to UPLOAD images as the admin, nor as a user??

The image shows that it is uploaded when I add them to pages, but they are blank. I am guessing it has to do with permission? There is no “error” message when I am trying to upload an image as an admin, but there is as a user. It reads:

“Server error. Upload directory isn’t writable”

I am sure this is a simple fix, but I can really really really use some guidance here. As I mentioned, everything is working beautifully!

    Thank you in advanced!!

THANK YOU @modemlooper for your feedback back. The BuddyPress Mobile is awesome! It has app like features and allows my users to update statuses on the go. Also, for the more craft user, they can actually upload photos via BuddyPress mobile if they have the URL, which Instagram actually provides, once it’s live. And I believe Photobucket, and flickr do as well… Anyway, thank you for the feedback!

@Quint your feedback is awesome! I will look further into this… that might be a way for a user to kill to birds with one stone.. good call!

@not1_name Thank you also for the helpful feedback. I love collaborating on these forums! I will give these options a try and let you know how it plays out!

    Best,
    Beerguy
