    There are two filters for the admin bar logo that you can take advantage of:

    In your bp-custom.php file, create one if you don’t have one, in /mu-plugins put this:

    function my_admin_bar_logo($content){

    return “<your admin bar logo path>”;

    }

    add_filter(‘bp_admin_bar_logo_src’, ‘my_admin_bar_logo’);

    function my_admin_bar_alt_text($content){

    return “< your admin bar alt text>”;

    }

    add_filter(‘bp_admin_bar_alt_text’, ‘my_admin_bar_alt_text’);

    What version of bp socialpreneur?

    Well, that was easy. I just try and clarify things and it gets hunted down by Andy. I could get used to this.

    I’m way confused as to what you are talking about.

    1) You enter info in a profile field. Save the profile.

    2) The info shows in the profile field.

    3) You change the info in a profile field, leaving it blank. Save the profile.

    What happens then?

    Hello. Hmmm. Never thought of that. Let me go look at this.

    (later)

    I don’t see how that is possible. When bp does an ajax call it loads the wp environment and all plugins get fired up including bp. Doing all that loads the translation files if your site is setup that way. The call is in bp-core.php.

    Howdy people. What exactly is your permalink structure on the blogs that are having problems?

    Example. site1.example.com: /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/ from Settings > Permalinks

    Can I get links to your sites? What version of bp are each of you running?

    This issue has been solved in trunk.

    This is not a bp problem. Read Trent’s post.

    You betcha no problem.

    Your site seems to be ok now. Went to a member profile and a group home. The only error I saw was a bp-dev.org group extra error in the group home. Is this only happening when you are logged in?

    I used to think I was General Manager of the Universe. That just got me into trouble. Glad it works.

    The theme and the profile back end don’t support this right now but there is a mod you can try.

    Change line 11 which reads:

    <?php if ( bp_field_has_data()) : ?>

    To read:

    <?php if ( bp_field_has_data() && bp_field_has_public_data()) : ?>

    In /bp-themes/buddypress-member/profile/profile-loop.php

    Then you will manually have to use phpmyadmin and go into the table bp_xprofile_fields and change all the profile field records that are parent fields and have \’0\’ in the column \’is_public\’ to \’1\’ for the fields you want to show on the profile and \’0\’ for the fields you don\’t want to show.

    Parent fields are the ones that have a \’0\’ in the \’parent_id\’ column.

    I visited your site and all the blogs on subdomains are having a problem. You seem to be generating some kind of fatal error. Check your apache error logs. What do they say?

    Turn off object caching in wp if it’s still on.

    Go to the blog options table in phpmyadmin. That’s wp_X_options where X is the blog id that the welcome widget is used on. Look for an entry that has the field ‘option_name’ of ‘bp_core_welcome_widget’. Delete that record and try setting up the widget again.

    Any field you create in the profile backend will appear in each user’s profile. Even if it doesn’t have anything in it.

    More fields:

    if ( 999 == $field_id || 998 == $field_id || 2 == $field_Id)

    Just a quick look at your site. I guess it\’s slower than other bp sites I\’ve seen. Speed depends on a lot of factors. The plugins you are using can slow you down if they do a lot of db queries. The host you use is also a major determining factor as well as the type of hosting. DV is usually faster than shared hosting.

    bp takes advantage of the standard wp object cache now. I’ve heard of significant performance improvements. Use the latest trunk to take advantage of this. See below on how to turn it on.

    Vida, this is a custom theme just for buddypress.org. It’s not being released at the moment.

    First of all you can’t put html in the widget. It gets stripped. Is that what you are trying to do?

    @burtadsit

    Andy can’t update the readme because it would change the readme in the download RC1 package. Something like that. He explained it. I got that out of the explanation Bloom.

    Are you running the home theme on a subdomain? Is that the blog that is having 404 errors?

    @burtadsit

    Participant

    hmm. ok. I’ll take a look at the issue. What version of wpmu and bp are you using. If trunk what rev for each.

    @burtadsit

    Participant

    There is no such table in bp. Tell me what the symptoms are for you. Are you using the wp object cache?

    @burtadsit

    We have to workaround this issue.

    function my_fix_linking(){
    remove_filter( 'bp_the_profile_field_value',
    'xprofile_filter_link_profile_data', 2 );
    add_filter( 'bp_the_profile_field_value',
    'my_filter_link_profile_data', 2, 3 );
    }
    add_action('bp_member_theme_functions', 'my_fix_linking');

    function my_filter_link_profile_data($field_value,
    $field_type = 'textbox', $field_id){
    if ( 'textbox' == $field_type)
    return $field_value;
    else xprofile_filter_link_profile_data($field_value, $field_type);
    }

    That will stop linking any field that is a text box.

    function my_filter_link_profile_data($field_value,
    $field_type = 'textbox', $field_id){
    if ( 999 == $field_id)
    return $field_value;
    else xprofile_filter_link_profile_data($field_value, $field_type);
    }

    That will stop linking for the field whose field_id is 999.

    Your choice. I haven’t tested the above code but it should work. Add the code above to your bp-custom.php file. If you don’t have one create one in /mu-plugins.

    @burtadsit

    Participant

    Looking at this. Gimme a minute.

    @burtadsit

    Participant

    OK. Here\’s the solution. You have to update to the latest trunk again. At least rev 1286. Put this in wp-config.php:

    define(\’BP_ROOT_BLOG\’, X);

    Where X is the blog id for the blog you are running the bp home theme on. Gotta be an integer there for X. 1, 99, 207 whatever it is.
