| WordPress Origin Story | I began building church websites and dabbling in various content management systems and tools. Over time, I found that WordPress was the fastest and easiest to use. I began creating WordPress themes and partnered with Smashing Magazine and other popular design blogs to share them with the community. They became a “smashing” success. I later opened up a small UX and design agency with a business partner. We worked with large and small clients around the world. Our crowning achievement was receiving two Emmy award nominations for WordPress projects The Walking Dead: Story Sync and Mad Men: The Fan Cut. We pioneered second screen apps in their early days, all using WordPress as the platform. Today, I work at 10up leading a team of designers delivering world-class design to our clients and their audiences. |
