Thank you very much for giving me some direction & feedback …. I installed the wordpress buddypress plugin as well as bbPress – I manage my own LAMP servers (fedora)
also I installed 2 other buddyPress/bbPress related plug-ins …. one plugin was ‘ultra users’ which I like so far ….

I’ve installed buddypress & bbpress
it seems that buddypress wants directories that don’t exist/haven’t been created
for example when I go to create a group it references a directory that doesn’t exist

“The requested URL /freefish-org/groups-2/create/ was not found on this server.”

@apeatling trying to get bp working in twentyten – without any details one quick quick question – is it working/should it work with twentyten and your helper plugin?

I noticed I had ff_bp_ mysql prefix tables and your config file had ff_bb_
I thought that was a part of my problem –

having a problem installing bp on wp 3.01 using ff 3.6.8 on a mac mini intel
get the feeling it has something to do with .htaccess not dir/file permissions
tried a few diff themes – same problem – can’t find directories which appear not to have been installed
assume it’s me not bp

okay – let’s see – I can’t change my avatar or at least nothing happens when I upload – perhaps it’s my image but I just was able to change to the same umage on the test site –
