My name is Dana and for the past six years I have been working at a local web agency as part of their team of web designers and UX experts. My role there involves me working on the design of new websites and then also managing them post launch to ensure that the sites are constantly improving and continue to ensure that they adhere to the best UX practices. In order for me to do this role effectively and to the best of my confidence, I am always trying to find new resources that allow me to expand upon my existing knowledge in order to improve the effectiveness and overall quality of the work that I produce for the clients that we work with. In order to achieve this, I am always on the lookout for new resources that can provide me with new knowledge and expand my understanding of a certain subject area. This community here at BuddyPress has already proved to be a helpful resource that I have already experienced the benefits of in the work that I do. One of the clients that we work alongside is a manufacturer of oak furniture and on their website they had a strange css related issue on one of their pages that was causing all of their images of oak dining chairs to appear… let’s just say not quite as they wanted them to. Fortunately, thanks to the assistance of some of the users here, I was able to identify the source of a problem that our team were struggling to find and promptly fix the issue before it began to put a tense strain on the relationship that our agency had with the client. Moving forward, I am excited to make further use of this community to help grown my knowledge and understanding, and hopefully also be able to share some of my own experiences.
