Unless your site has a lot of visitors, since you’re having truoble with page caching, I’d leave it off. Database cache and object cache settings will help are the most important.

Hi, thanks for posting. This is a BuddyPress limitation rather than Welcome Pack; I expect you have exactly the same issue around all BuddyPress links around your site?

This thread is eighteen months old; we need more information to help you. Which dates aren’t being displayed (where are they) and what version of BuddyPress are you using?

Yes, I was checking it wasn’t set (it’s something to do with PHP4, apparently) which is why I asked about your PHP version number too. I don’t know.

I’m fairly sure that there’s no way to delete or rename a wordpress.org account.

Syntax highlighting?
Also, it’d be helpful if the patch for checking for closed tags were implemented on here: https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2359 -

Hi
Do you mean Group-specific Achievements on a per-Group basis?

Hi @fidodido
Great! I recommend you subscribe to the WordPress Polyglots mailing list (https://codex.wordpress.org/Mailing_Lists#Polyglots), introduce yourself and the Polyglots team can help you by setting an area up for you to upload the translation. -

Hi Justin
Thanks for posting. We’re aware of the avatar issue on this site.I haven’t seen this issue with BP, Zend and IIS before. I’m not aware of anything particularly funky that happens in bp-groups.php. Some thoughts:
What version of PHP are you running, and is the ze1_compatibility_mode setting enabled? (i.e. ze1_compatibility_mode=1)

Hi
Yes — Achievements will be coming out at or by the end of September (2010 😉 ). There’s a few details on my blog at http://byotos.com/ and I hope to do some more posts soon about it.
The other plugin you are thinking of is CubePoints.

Hopefully someone else will chime in, but the only thing you may lose by not importing the bb_usermeta would be any customisation a user has done to their “display name” or “nice name”; it’d default back to that person’s username. They’d have to just type their preferred display name back in to WordPress or bbPress, […]

Hmm it depends how you want your site to work. At the moment, it’s a one group to forum mapping. That means, for each forum (or sub-forum), you’re going to need a group. How many (sub)forums on your existing site? If you have more forums than you want BuddyPress Groups created, we need to do […]

I assume there’s nothing useful in your server’s log files? 500 is usually a misconfiguration of some type. Have you tried to upload a copy of the BuddyPress files rather than the automatic download?
Also, fyi, https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/iis7-web-config/ which may be of some help once you get the plugin activated 🙂

I’ve just tried it (BP 1.2.6 / Branch 1.2) , WP 3.0.1 and I can’t recreate this. Anyone else got any feedback?

Paul Gibbs posted on the forum topic Unable to install BP on my site in the group Installing BuddyPress: 15 years, 7 months ago
Hmm. So, you’re saying, if I have a non-English version of WordPress (maybe MS subdomain specific), and I try to activate the BuddyPress plugin, it’ll fail and give me the “are you cheatin'” message?
The problem goes away if you removed your localisation? You changed nothing else?
