BuddyPress doesn’t use bb_users at all, only wp_users. You have a standalone installation of bbPress which is where your users database is (because you mentioned bb_users, I expect)? Can we just clarify that you’ve installed WordPress, and activated BuddyPress? Have you integrated your standalone bbPress install at all? If so, how? Via the “Use an […]

The default view for the member directory is “active members”. This will only show users who have logged in since you activated BuddyPress, and are therefore considered active (last_activity meta is present). If you change the ordering to something else, the members will show. Technically this comes down to if a user’s “last_activity” record is […]

It’s worth pointing out that BP 1.2.6 will require WordPress 3.0+.

Hi @weshaw It’s probably something to do with you running non-current versions of WPMU and BuddyPress. I’m assuming you’re running Welcome Pack 2.1. The email customisation will only work with BP 1.2.4.1 onwards. I can’t remember what version was out when WPMU 2.9.1 was current, I’m afraid. Looking at the changelog, I’d suggest you try version […]

Wp-load.php is where the AJAX requests are sent to. Have you included or customised the main js from bp-default? Might be worth stepping through an AJAX request on your theme vs default theme and see what’s up.

off the top of my head, if nothing is returned then the user hasn’t checked it in their profile.

Had you ever previously installed BuddyPress or attempted a BuddyPress forum installation on this site / database before now? Are all the forums broken, or do, for example, newly-created groups’ forums work ok? Is your WordPress set up as a multisite? (this used to be called WPMU. If you don’t understand this question, the answer’s […]

Paul Gibbs posted on the forum topic Installed BP for second time, worked the first time not now… in the group Installing BuddyPress: 15 years, 7 months ago
Hmm. Looks like the plugin is active at the moment (I see a javascript include). I also see a lot of other plugins; if you’ve got a test server I suggest disabling all the plugins other than BuddyPress and seeing if it works. I suspect this is likely due to a conflict. Another idea is, […]

Admin bar not appearing in front end is probably because your theme doesn’t call wp_footer()? And what is your permalink structure, can you share it here?

@rogercoathup
Especially when multisite is installed, I always recommend that people test their WordPress thoroughly; do custom permalinks work, can you comment, can you register new sites, and so on. Usually it’s a permalink or mod_rewrite 🙂 -

Hi @pgayed, sorry I’ve only just seen this. Best to write on the forums then I see it a little better, I forget to look here sometimes.
It looks like you’ve got a few members showing now. A member has to log in to your site again *after* BuddyPress has been activated, then they get listed in the members page. That’s probably it?
