If you didn’t disable BuddyPress (and all other plugins) before upgrading WordPress, this might be a weird artifact, though it should usually clear after a page refresh. So… have you disabled the Groups component?

Paul Gibbs posted on the forum topic Error when accessing BP forum page in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 8 months ago
That’s a fairly low-level error with the database object not being available; that is, of course, WordPress territory. If you deactivate your “backup program”, is this fixed?

I’ll test this on MS when I get in. I hope you have at least tried disabling all other plugins other than BP if to check if there is a conflict.

bp_get_members_slug isn’t a function! What info do you want to get, the member’s name or the part of the URL which makes up that link? i.e. “/members/” by default

We’re tied up with the wordpress.org user database, so we get spam signups from there as well. At the moment, short of letting one of the moderators like me know — and we just pass the message on to @johnjamesjacoby — I don’t have a magical hammer

It’s a matter of editing the template files, and then hooking up your behind-the-scenes code. Do you mean you just want to add another text box or another “Tab” on a person’s profile page?

1. Was this with or without buddypress active?
2. All users will be able to see wp-admin, but some parts more than others. Are you 100% that what your Admin account sees in wp-admin and what one of these users see are identical? -

Not sure. I’ll assume you haven’t done anything funky with your database configuration; what other plugins do you have active?

Helene A child theme lives in its own directory, and inherits any files not presenting the child theme, from its parent theme. So what you would do is create a child theme of BP Default and copy into your child theme, BP Default’s header.php (for example – what you want may be on another page) […]
