unless someone hires me to do it, i have no big plans. Also, often people want star ratings for groups/blog posts. and thumbs up/down for forum posts and comments.

for one client, I added commenting on blog posts – i was thinking of releasing it but other things are priority. and another person now wants rating for groups. so yes kind of.

About the first part, yes it is possible to just prevent people from posting new topics, but allow them to reply. if you know a bit of php you could probably figure it out yourself, otherwise I can do it for $100 to $150. About the second part, I’m not sure. Why not just make it a Welcome blog and use the comments. my email is deryk@bluemandala.com

this will be fixed in the new release. the tag cloud will be visible by default, and you can change the settings in the wordpress admin.

the plugin creates group tags as a way to categorize and organize groups – it has nothing to do with the forum tags. I agree that it is strange that forum tags are almost useless in the current implementation. but that might change in the future as bbpress matures as it’s own plugin.

@babelsheep yes this is possible and a good idea for a plugin. However If all you need is a job board and you don’t need social networking then I believe there are wordpress plugins that do this well.https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/job-manager/ is one choice but there are others.
