  About the first part, yes it is possible to just prevent people from posting new topics, but allow them to reply. if you know a bit of php you could probably figure it out yourself, otherwise I can do it for $100 to $150. About the second part, I’m not sure. Why not just make it a Welcome blog and use the comments. my email is deryk@bluemandala.com

Do you know if this creates an issue with authentication keys??
I have this in my bp-custom, and when an activation key is sent, the user does not require it, as a username and password will still work.

That shouldn’t be too hard. I’m more of a CSS and visual kind of guy, but I recommend checking with @dwenaus. He’s pretty good at creating plugins and I happen to know that he’s available for hire.

I hope you release your plugin to the GPL. 😀

I would vote for gPress ( @msmalley https://buddypress.org/community/groups/gpress/ ), BuddyPress Album+ ( @foxly https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-album/ ) and @Dwenaus plug-in above as they will be providing much needed basic, yet invaluable group functionality, ‘groups’ being the reason for buddypress’s success I would say.

@dwenaus Query… Would it be possible to have the admin receive a digest of “X” number of all of the groups or Selected Groups, without multiple digests of each group? The reason, I would like to be able to post the digest on other sites weekly, kind of a “weekly” update at the musicpln.org or “hot/current” topics…

I see where you’re coming from but still think people would at least like to know that there was a reply… even if they don’t know what the reply was. Would it be possible to send a simple message saying:

“There has been a reply to the activity update. Please click here?”

hi,

@Dwenaus (IE8 BP 1.2.5.2 WP 3.0.1) group tag menu in admin bar is shown as empty cell, however links to the group tags (group page)..is it possible to fix this, or remove this menu completely?
