    @mazen, this bug is not only in IE 8. but i *thought* i fixed it with the most recent update. what version of the plugin are you running?

    I guess i’ll add this a bug under trac, and maybe find a solution.

    thanks for you update. I have to manually go through my activity stream, to find old posts i’ve commented on to see if there are any responses. when we had favorites, I simpled favorited an item, and then subscribed via RSS to my favorites stream – wonderful.

    I’d really like to hear what the powers that be (@apeatling) see as the right way to go forward on this before I start coding something else. For me a big part of it is staying connected on this website and only they can change that.

    BTW, many thanks to the powers that be for all their hard work and all this free software!

    good to know, but i’m hoping for something more ‘official’ and therefore future proof.

    I too have been wanting this desparately. Even here on Buddypress.org, since the wonderful make-over I can no longer follow forum topics. Which means I post and then have no way to follow up!

    I don’t know the future vision of forums, but this might be one more reason to switch to a more integrated forum solution. I bet the buddypress dev team could knock out an awesome BP forum in a matter of weeks. but obviously there are bigger priorities out there.

    does the dev team know if there will be any progress on this, or should we write a plugin?

    add this code to your Buddypress child theme style.css :

    #wp-admin-bar .padder { background-color: #333; background-image: none; }

    and if you want it to go full wide then use this instead
    #wp-admin-bar .padder, #wp-admin-bar { background-color: #333; background-image: none; }

    does anyone know the answer to why admin menu in the admin bar only ever shows ‘delete group’ it seems like it could show call the group admin options.

    @Johnjamesjacoby – I realize you’re busy guy – but any update on this. I’m looking for a simple plugin that will simply let a user change the BP interface language. google translation would be great but not essential.

    @agrundner – thanks for the info. That looks like the way to go. But to be honest, I’m not aspiring to be a BP plugin coder, so if anyone else wants to take over development of this plugin – be by guest! I just wrote this for a client/project and am sharing it with the community. Maybe I’m being selfish, but I don’t want to be responsible long term for managing the plugin. So perhaps your suggestion makes the most sense so that a community of developers can take ownership. thanks.

    @hector, contact @warzan.

    as of right now, we’re waiting for enough funds to get this going. I believe we have over half. about $300 – $400 more would do the trick.

    I’ve not heard of this before. I’m guessing it might be css related, the thumbs are done via css.

    An quick update. The new version should not be used on live sites because we are currently re-doing the data structure, so any groups that users join now, they will have to re-join later.

    About the follow topic link on the topic page, I forgot to put in the read me the instructions for adding the proper action hook into the buddypress code. I’ve added the request to trac, so it should eventually be in BP core.

    Here you can see what needs to be added: https://trac.buddypress.org/attachment/ticket/2129/2129_forum_topic.diff
    really it is just ` ` that needs to be added to bp-themes/bp-default/groups/single/forum/topic.php before `

    `

    stay tuned for the final version which will be ready in about a week.

    I think if that were to happen, it would be a good thing for the BP core team to do, because it would mean extending tagging to all parts of buddypress, including plugins. that would not be a small project and is best done by the same minds that created BP in the first place. Great ideas, but I’m afraid I’m not the one to do it.

    @paulhastings0 – I highly recommend diving in and writing your first plugin. It’s a bit of a tricky learning curve at first to put it into the WP plugin repository, but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty cool. Thanks for doing the other ones. :)

    @Wildrot – good idea, but the tag adding interface would have to be much improved, which would be a fair amount of work. If you are interested in doing it, please join in and help code it.

    they said i could do it with them with a friend who has a US account. My father lives in the US, so Its going to work out.

    I posted on their site, and all looked good until I noticed that they use Amazon Payments and mention that as of now, it only works in the US.

    @3sixty – I like the kickstarter website. I think it makes sense to put this project up there, then the pledge system can really work, and only if we get enough $ does the pledge go through and I build it.

    About making the system content agnostic – excellent idea, however this may require re-writing some core aspects of the plugin which will take more time. I makes total sense that all these things be integrated so that your total karma score is a combination of all your activity across BP and WP/WPMU

    I estimate the extension to the plugin will take between $600 to $900 to implement. However as features get added, the price will increase slightly. We can work out all that out as we get closer to doing it. And if it goes over budget, I’ll just keep coding till it’s done.

    Probably the best way to vouch for pledges is to send 30% via paypal when I start, then another 30% when I reach a significant milestone, and then the remainder when it’s totally done. (or simpler, you could just send 50/50 for start/complete). I’m fine signing a simple contract if that is needed by anyone. However I’m a very honest trust worthy person (for whatever that’s worth!)

    And like I pointed out above, I’m not doing this to look for work, I’ve got enough going on already. If any other competent developer wants to do the coding, by all means speak up, i can still manage things and someone else can code it. Heck, maybe someone just wants to code it for free!

    A rankings table is an easy thing to add. Thanks for clearing things up warren. Xevo, i’m not asking for myself, I’m asking on behalf of others that want to see this happen and share the cost with the community. I don’t need any of this functionality, cool as it is, for my project so I won’t be developing it without outside support. If other people want to code this and add it to my plugin they are welcome to, but let’s be realistic here.

    The spirit of open source is not that everyone works for free, rather it is that we share code freely. BIg difference.

    @r-a-y, I agree, it should be site-wide, and a blog-by-blog way to activate it or deactivate it. It would be quite easy to integrate activity based karma, so that each post automatically gets 1 karma point, but you can still rate it up or down. But the issue now is funding.

    Personally I don’t need any of these cool features for my project, so It’s only going to happen if others add to the code or if funding is found for me to do it. So if anyone wants to make a large or small donation, conditional on enough people coming together, make your pledges now. you can pledge in the above linked post, or email me at deryk@bluemandala.com.

    I’ve posted a request for funding this plugin extension here: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/extending-buddypress-rate-forum-posts-to-rate-blog-posts. Hopefully there are others that want this enough to make a contribution and make it happen.

    I’ll look into that one. seems like ajax is using a different route, so need to find out how it’s working.
