@Bowromir Hi Bowe
Did you ever get around releasing the “Accordion UI for compact sidebar” widget? It looks really useful! -

Hey guys, new fun plugin available for BuddyPress: http://wpmu.org/new-sliding-ajax-login-panel-plugin-for-buddypress/ I have no idea when the repo will approve it, so I thought I’d mention it here in case anyone is looking for something like this. There are lots of tutorials for making sliding login panels, but some can be complicated to…[Read more]

@firetag hey firetag, I just stumbled upon a forum post where you said you had developed an additional group type with its own directory… this is EXACTLY what one of my clients needs… any updates on putting it into a plugin? Could we possibly hire you to make it happen sooner? : )
-
@gregeland The plugin probably won’t be released until the newest version of buddy press is which will implement 3.0 fully, but it honestly depends on how groups are currently going to be run on your site.. I have a few questions about your current implementation… First off is the site currently online? If it is then the plugin would require…[Read more]

A little update.. I actually worked on it the past few days and for the functionality that you want should be done within the week… I just have to test it a little and do some CSS styling to the admin area. After that I’ll do some quick testing on localhost, message me back if you all are still interested that way I can add and change some…[Read more]

yeah i have it running .. but it requires theme edits and all kinds of hacks… there are lots of other developing the same thing… maybe they have better solutions…it would require a few core changes to make it so there are no theme edits… there are still a few major bugs with current code so I need to clean it up a little bit before i…[Read more]

is there a way to stop Buddypress Like from creating an activity when user likes something?
-
@gwu123; I was just about to ask the same question, as we’re revisiting this plugin. The activity recording was a nuisance, and though there’s a plugin to block activity types, I’m going to try a hack to fix it.
I’m sure this plugin could be turned into a simple Report Abuse plugin, too. I may have a go at that.
-
Ok; this seems to work fine. In the file bp-like.php, find the following line and comment it out as so;
/* bp_activity_add( array( ‘action’ => $action, ‘component’ => ‘bp-like’, ‘type’ => ‘activity_liked’, ‘user_id’ => $user_id, ‘item_id’ => $activity_id ) ); */
Everything works as before, but no activity is recorded. 🙂

thanks @lincme

Just found I want to remove a lot of other activity too, so this is required I think! https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-block-activity-stream-types/

I’m not sure if WP 3.0 will be released in May or not. It is still possible. Either way, I do not think BP 1.3 will be released when WP 3.0 is released as BP already works with WP and WPMU. I don’t think Andy is in any hurry. Besides, there should be a BP 1.2.4 released in the coming week or so.
I plan on officially releasing the Privacy…[Read more]
