Hello, Someone should please help me fix this. It have been more than 24hours since I asked this question.
Hello everyone, I have got a fix for this. Are you using WordPress SEO by Yoast? If you are using this plugin, go to Permalinks, and uncheck redirect ugly url to clean ones. That will fix the problem for you. It fixed mine! This note is from the plugin author: People make mistakes in their links towards you sometimes, or unwanted parameters are added to the end of your URLs, this allows you to redirect them all away. Please note that while this is a feature that is actively maintained, it is known to break several plugins, and should for that reason be the first feature you disable when you encounter issues after installing this plugin.
Thanks for that tip, I guess that is what I should do.
Hello megainfo, I deactivated all the plugins I used and created a new user account. It worked like a magic, so how can I figure out the plugin which is the culprit for all these?
Sorry sir, but I went I created an account, just to verify what you said and it still doesn’t work. I will welcome more suggestions and tips. Thank you.
Thanks alot for the info, you are really a megainfo. Thanks once again! But do you have any Idea on what I can do to fix things with the username. I want the user to also use their username for the login. Thanks alot for your help. I am delightfully. Thank you.
@Hugo, I am very sorry if I seem silly but I couldn’t help matters myself. Imagine a situation where you have people who loves your work, only to create an account, activate it and to login to see what you have created and they are bounced back. I am really sorry if I had offended anybody. Now this is what actually happens, when a user creates and activates an account, and he tries to login, the user will be redirected to wordpress login. There is no errors shown, meaning the username and the password is correct. There is no spaces used. And you are right, the user gets logged in after sometime. I hope I am making sense here? Please help me.
Buddypress Team, you guys rocks. I love you all, thanks for the good work!
Widget Logic doesn’t seem to work on forums for me, I have tried all I could but it is just not working.
Thanks a lot for your reply. I guess I have to try out things my self. Thanks alot I really do appreciate.
Hello, I did everything chris expalined to nickmy. But I can’t see any changes on my site. I have been looking way to do this, please someone should help me out here. I don’t know whether this is going to cause the problem. I deleted my functions.php file in my parent theme and moved it to the child theme. My site is working fine on the localhost, but I don’t know whether this would cause any bother to my site in the future. Guys help me out.
@karmatosed. I saw your work at WPMUDEV; I mean how you helped a guy to resolve his buddypress sidebar issue. I was following the tutor but at a point I got hooked up. I thought of joining WPMUDEV immediately and ask you this question, but then again, I am not well equipped financially at the moment. Please if you help me solve this issue out, I will not forget about it so easily. Thanks. Now this is what I have done. FIrstly I added this code in my childtheme functions.php file.
register_sidebars( 1, array( 'id' => 'leftsidebar', 'name' => 'Christlike-sidebar', 'before_widget' => '<div id="%1$s">', 'after_widget' => '</div>', 'before_title' => '<h3 class="widgettitle">', 'after_title' => '</h3>' ) );
Then I saved it and refreshed my browser in my widgets administration panel. Guess what the sidebar did appear. So I added some widgets into it and saved it. Then I created a new sidebar with a notepad in my child theme and named it Christlike-sidebar.php. Then I added this code into it.
<div id="leftsidebar"> </div>
I learnt from numerous tutorials I read online that you have to add a code to your index.php file to enable the sidebar to appear in my site. I obeyed promptly and added this code:
I saved everything and refreshed my browser. Damn… nothing appeared. I have read and read and read, searched out for how to do this on Google, Bing, and Yahoo but all my efforts have yielded nothing. Please help me out.
Again, if there is any developer that knows how best I can achieve this, please help me out. Thanks alot to you all.
@pcwriter Please, can you help me outline how you added your own sidebar. I will love it when you reply. I have been suffering over this issue for a long time now. Thanks buddy
