@boonebgorges, @djpaul, @hnla or anybody in control of Testbp.org, the same E-harmony spammer that hit here did same thing over at the Testbp.org forums, just noticed for your heads up 🙂

Maybe we can ask JJJ or Andy in the next developer chat if it’s practical to reset that test site, or at least clear the activity stream. Must be lots of spam in it 🙂

Lets worry about buddypress.org first. it is far more need of attention than testbp 🙂

testbp is flooded with spammers, if you haven’t noticed, much worse than here, and buddypress.org has nothing to worry about 🙂

@djpaul what I think really needs to happen is a captcha at the signup forum, maybe a simple 4-letter, that would filter out spammers. I can’t tell if This is a spammer, he might be slipping away unnoticed.

Maybe a future feature would be “Syntax Highlighting” in the forums, because I get this too all the time in my forums.

On the main forum’s directory, if you post a new topic, it will redirect back to the page right?
But on individual forums it says “there was an error when creating the topic”

You don’t need to do anything with that file!
Now you need to go to your admin panel and enable the option “allow members to create groups”? Or something along the line of that so I can create a group
Do same with forums

Actually, before you do that, do you have “anyone can register” setting enabled in your admin panel?

Here is a potential fix, not guaranteed to work
Go into your database, where you host all your files. Find the file: .htaccess.
It should be in the root of your wordpress.
Scroll down to the end of the file and add this:
LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so -
