In reply to: Admin Bar topics to Nav Bar
Could be something related to: but It isn’t guaranteed to work, might need to play around with it..
function bp_adminbar_account_menu() { global $bp; if ( !$bp->bp_nav || !is_user_logged_in() ) return false; echo '<li id="bp-adminbar-account-menu"><a href="' . bp_loggedin_user_domain() . '">'; echo __( 'My Profile', 'buddypress' ) . '</a>'; echo '<ul>'; }In reply to: Admin Bar topics to Nav BarGot it.
Now what I need to know is if your using a default theme, or custom theme.
Doing this could simple as transferring some code snippets from bp-core/adminbar.php, but I am not extremely code savy myself
In reply to: Admin Bar topics to Nav BarSo, are you talking a additional tab in the admin bar with sub-nav links like “My Account”?
In reply to: Edit Widget “Recent Posts” to take out videos?Is this even related to buddypress?
It looks like a css “overflow” issue.. but otherwise go to the plugin website for support there…
In reply to: Forums Posting Problems: The definitive postGo the group your attempting to post in and delete the forum_id, don’t delete the group_id.
So it would require going to the group, — forum — forum_id
And re-enabling forums is going into the group, under “admin”, then “group settings, and unchecking-and rechecking and see if that works
In reply to: Forums Posting Problems: The definitive postTry this:
Go to: phpmyadmin > yourdatabase > wp_bp_groups_groupmeta
Find the group you’re attempting to post to and then delete the forum_id value. Go back to your group on the front end. When logged in as admin of the group, go to settings and re-enable your forums. It will save a new forum_id for you and your posts should start working. This is a solution for BuddyPress groups that are starting a fresh new forum, not for groups with forums that have existing posts.
In reply to: Forums Posting Problems: The definitive postYour bb-config.php database username and password is in the file, if you open it and look, it’s pretty easy to spot.
The file should be in the root of the wordpress installation
In reply to: Buddypress Template File Corresponding…@hnla, the default code tags for displaying code on these forums aren’t really a clean solution for pasting code, as syntax highlighting gives numbered lines, and is a completely foolproof, safe way to paste any code in any forum area. Yes, it’s not a necessity, but it would certainly clear up the altering of layout also
Can you be more specific than a raging capital letter title?

Go to Settings -> Miscellaneous Settings
Set “Store uploads in this folder” to “wp-content/uploads”.
Set “Full URL path to files” to the REAL FULL PATH of your uploads.Then change bp-core-avatars.php line 389:
Replace:
`if ( !$path = get_option( ‘upload_path’ ) )
$path = WP_CONTENT_DIR . ‘/uploads’;`With:
`if ( !$path = get_option( ‘upload_path’ ) )
$path = WP_CONTENT_DIR . ‘/uploads’;
else $path = ABSPATH . $path;`In reply to: BuddyPress and webkit browsers (Chrome, Safari…)IE does not support webkit borders from my understanding.
Go into your host files, and go to /groups/single/forum/topic.php and remove:
`<a class="button" href="/”>`
Do same thing for edit.php.
In reply to: Forums Posting Problems: The definitive posthnla if they were not the same it would get you an “error establishing database connection”
In reply to: Forums Posting Problems: The definitive postDid the problem persist before you started fresh?
Is your bp-config.php in the correct location?
In reply to: Exclude Friend Connections and New RegistersIn reply to: Buddypress Template File Corresponding…Whoa! Looks like we need Rich’s Syntax Highlighter hack For buddypress.org forums!
In reply to: Forums Posting Problems: The definitive postOne thing that can cause the forums to act in this strange way through experience is changing your Database username or password. Have you done this before? If yes, go back to the original credentials, and try again.
And from reading your early steps, it seems you sort of messed around with your files, and FTP, would it be possible to start completely fresh? (new wp-install, bp-install)? To see if it gets working?
I would have to give this a +1!
Don’t you just love hacks?
it would probably require some heavy data collecting if you want it to be just that specific group. Especially if you have a-lot of mods or admins
it’s the colon at the end of the line: “:” you need a semicolon “;”
In reply to: Disqus/Intense Debate + wp/bpIf you are looking to install disqus, I must warn you that buddypress and disqus don’t get along with eachother, unless you are willing to pay $150/month for disqus premium.
If you have disqus free+ buddypress, all of your users will have to sign up again to disqus. The premium disqus has membership syncing, the free does not.
@bigjimmysisco, remove
`if ( !function_exists( ‘bp_dtheme_activity_secondary_avatars’ ) :`
And
`edif;`
you could create the:
close buddies
office collegues
parents etcinto groups and have all those category of members join the group.
In reply to: Disqus/Intense Debate + wp/bpHere is a website that uses buddypress and disqus. http://www.hotforwords.com
It would probably take some transferring of code from the bp-default theme to the template pack but i don’t know where that code would be right off hand
