Henry Wright replied to the topic Strange behavior when searching a member! 🙁 in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 6 months ago
The theme is a premium theme so unfortunately I can’t see the markup. Perhaps try contacting their support team showing them the screenshot you’ve linked-to above. They should be able to help.

Hi @sergioral
This is likely caused by malformed markup in your theme. Which theme are you using?

Henry Wright replied to the topic Hide the MEMBERS, GROUPS, ACTIVITY pages in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 6 months ago
Hi @dhyana
Put this in your theme’s functions.php file:
function my_redirect_pages() {
if ( ! is_user_logged_in() && ( is_page( 'members' ) || is_page( 'groups' ) || is_page( 'activity' ) ) ) {
wp_redirect( home_url() );
exit();
}
}
add_action( 'template_redirect', 'my_redirect_pages' );This will block these pages for…[Read more]

Henry Wright replied to the topic Rename "Messages" nav to "Mails" in the forum Installing BuddyPress 11 years, 6 months ago
Hi @sundev
Check out the Customizing Labels, Messages, and URLs article. To customise the label I think you’ll need to use a language file.
If you also want to change the slug in the URL, try adding this to your bp-custom.php file
define( 'BP_MESSAGES_SLUG', 'mails' ); -

This will be a fairly big task, bigger than what can be explained in a forum post. But there is a great article available. Check out Creating Admin Themes

Henry Wright replied to the topic How can users with Subscriber role be made invisible in widgets? in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 6 months ago
That’s a premium theme so unfortunately I can’t see the widget’s code when I visit that site. Perhaps try asking their support team how you could achieve what you need?

@marriagebroker login details aren’t necessary. I just need to locate the source code of the widgets to see what hooks are available. Are they default widgets in BuddyPress (I don’t currently have BuddyPress installed so cannot check that myself)? Or are they part of a plugin etc?

Can you link to these widgets? You’d basically filter their output but I’d need to see how they’re coded before I can help in detail.

Hi @eqerhe,
Check out the Theme My Login plugin. Once installed, if you enable the ‘redirection module’ it’ll do exactly what you need.

Henry Wright replied to the topic Hide time-since with CSS in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 6 months ago
@grafcom I’m not sure why your code isn’t working. Firebug is telling you the selector is
time-sinceand you’re doing this in your CSS file:span.time-since {
display: none !important;
}There must be something else going on. Do you have any more style sheets loading which may take precedence over your theme’s style.css? Are any inline…[Read more]

Regarding point 2, take a look at this answer on Stack Overflow: http://stackoverflow.com/a/24763715/1709033
It tries to explain how the BuddyPress template hierarchy works… 🙂

Henry Wright replied to the topic No Registration and Activation Page in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 6 months ago
BuddyPress should automatically create registration and activation pages for you. You can check by going to your website. For example
example.com/registrationorexample.com/activate.To create a WordPress navigation menu and add the activation and registration pages to it, see the WordPress Menu User Guide.

I quite like this design. It manages to fit lots of information on the page without looking cluttered. The colour scheme you’ve used is quite subtle making for easy reading. I’ve noticed you’ve opted for a fluid layout. One slight issue with that is when you’re viewing on devices such as mobiles. Perhaps a responsive layout…[Read more]

I just read your blog post. It’s interesting you couldn’t get
define( 'BP_SEARCH_SLUG', 'searchresults' );to work outside of wp-config.php. Have you tried creating a bp-custom.php file and popping the constant definition in there? - Load More
