This theme isn’t a BP compatible one is it? Have you run the BP template pack plugin to adapt the theme for use with BP?

1/ remove the float from #header and replace with ‘overflow: hidden’

2/ add ‘clear:both; to div.activity in the bp styles, creating the ruleset if it doesn’t […]

It’s hard to say what the issue is here or whether a re-install of BP would effect any change – I wouldn’t have thought so but then probably wouldn’t hurt to?.
