Can you rule out some of the things I mentioned, after that you might need to approach your server admin and ask if they can check user/group permissions, explaining exactly the issue.

Try the backend profile edit screen if you hover fields it will show you the ids in the links.

Isn’t the simple answer to copy across page.php fix up and submit? they are testing the child theme after all, it will perform as expected then, it may defeat the purpose of a child theme but fixes the issue from your perspective?

That was belief as well, only appears to backup wp prefix tables and they do mention not being able to back up BP at this time, I think they may intend to when the basic service is bedded in fully.

The cascade and specificity should really be observed first and foremost where are you adding your styles and where is the custom css file called from.
