@hnla – The $current_blog global is what you’re looking for.

…use a conditional to check whether the main site is being viewed…
That’s exactly what I’m trying to do but can’t seem to get it right 🙁

@hnla Thanks for the update for WP3.0! I’m still trying to find my way with basic php and am just now getting my head around functions, actions, hooks, et al. To whit, I discovered my code is causing the Community dropdown (contains all BP links) to appear in the adminbar in member sub-blogs. The WP pages […]

@hnla I mean the buddypress links. All the individual items under “My Account” and the “Notifications.” I’ve clumsily figured out how to generate a link to a logged in users account page, just by copying and pasting random bits of php from the admin bar file into my design. If there was a simple way to […]

@hnla: Oh, I figured the CSS out on my own, thanks 😉
My issue now is trying to exclude certain groups from display. Grrr.

@hnla: I wish I’d have noticed your post about changin the sidebar call mentioned in my other thread earlier (other thread is messed up from code posting, so I was afraid posting there wouldn’t ping you correctly). I just put that in, and error gone! Now if I could only figure out the CSS to display […]

@hnla: thanks for the reply 🙂 I only have a few minutes before I need to leave for the afternoon, but if there’s any possible way you could have a look at these, I’d really appreciate it! I’m at my mind-scrambled point with looking at the code myself. Here’s my member-header.php, including the newly widgetized area, […]

@hnla: Errr. You are definitely right. It was my late night coding that prevented code stripping when editing group description that stopped the upgrade.php script to function. Everything is working now. I just commented out my function and everything worked like a charm again. Thanks for sorting this out for me!

Hi @hnla and thanks for your reply. I followed the instructions you gave, but must have done something wrong as the column width didn’t change, but all the widgets it was previously displaying vanished. I had to reinstall BuddyPress from scratch to recover it. Any guesses as to where I went wrong? PS. I’m not very […]

@hnla I have been following the thread, but it seems as if Boone’s been busy and he hasn’t been answering queries for a few days to a week. I’ve posted a number of times there and haven’t gotten a reply. I’m not sure about splitting the JSON file at this point. I know that he’s mentioned […]

@hnla Hi,
I don’t know if this is appropriate to ask, or if you’re the right person to ask, but you seem to know what you’re doing with BP, and I’m at the end of my tether. Is there any chance you’d be willing to help me get my site fixed up properly? I mean, like I’d give you the top access to my site, and you could go on there and together we…[Read more] -

@hnla Thanks for the heads up about the plugin; it helps a lot! It’s like having an in-home tutor wagging his finger when I get ahead of myself. And sometimes it’s the most obvious that escapes me… The thing that completely screwed up the page was what you had noted above: Should read: <?php … Corrected […]

@hnla Thanks for taking a hard look. Clearly, I need to learn more about what’s allowed and what’s not. I “borrowed” the code and css from another template in an attempt to widgetize my home page, but the evidence would suggest that I’d be better off knowing what I’m doing rather than diving in and hoping […]
