ipstenu posted on the forum topic when release of BP 1.2.4 in the group Requests & Feedback: 14 years, 6 months ago
@erich73, I can tell you’re really excited about the new version, but asking every couple days if they’re done is kind of like being the kid in the back of the car ‘are we there yet?’ 🙂 Have faith and a little more patience. They’ll put out 1.2.4 when it’s done and working, and not rush […]

It took me a while to think about this. I mostly like it, but the ‘faded’ quality of the colors is weirding me out. Text in the forums is a little … small. Compare it to wordpress.org and notice how their text is a little darker and larger. That is much easier to read for the […]

ipstenu posted on the forum topic [Plugin: Buddypress Sitewide activity Widget] CSS Customization Acts Weird in the group Buddypress Sitewide activity Widget: 14 years, 7 months ago
Reinstalled just now. It honors CSS in my style.css now (which is where I always put it). I don’t know why it ignored it before!
I’m massaging the heck out of the CSS now to make it more streamlined.

ipstenu posted on the forum topic Can the naviagtion change once the user has logged in? (Removing the HOME button) in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years, 7 months ago
At the minute once the user logs in it redirects the to their profile page. How and where do i include that code so the home button disappears?
Those are two different questions. 🙂 Login With Ajax would help with the redirect. https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/login-with-ajax/ As for the home button, in your header.php you just wrap is user […]

I think it’s because google’s inserts put in their own version of jquery.

Everyone’s happy now 🙂
And you can add in ‘Having ANYTHING Google in your WP footer will cause this to go pear-shaped.’ I had a Google ad and, until I removed it, got a white screen of death.

Massive thanks to @r-a-y for being smart and explaining things 🙂 the iframe hack (which I sorted out and just … can’t do it. I hates iframe) was a great solution. I bit the bullet, moved subdomains out to normal domain, fiddled with .htaccess and it’s perfect 🙂

Okay, that was exactly it. I moved the subdomains around (and threw up some htaccess to fix old links) and it’s working. It’s worth the sacrifice!
I’m allergic to iframes, but thank you for the offer!

And, of course, I’m using subdomains for them. *sigh* They’ve been around for so long, I don’t really want to change them from that, either!

If you have long code bits it doesn’t always work, oddly enough. Especially if you have any blank lines.

@mike2ike – Until they sort out why code is getting eaten, maybe post the code to http://buddypress.pastebin.com/ ?

Try using:
Replace square brackets with trianglular ones.

I love my BP install. It does exactly what I want. But I also have a gallery install (ZenPhoto) and a MediaWiki install that I need to keep as is for a variety of reasons. I wanted to make the site look even more seamless. I’ve matched up themes pretty closely, but now I want […]

In going over with my community what kind of groups they want (i.e. they can make anything they want, or they have to ask admins to make one), the idea came up ‘What if we could make them, but you have to approve them!’ Is that possible? I know you can set up new blogs […]
