WordPress Origin Story

Came to work for a communications agency in the Netherlands in the summer of 2014 which work with WordPress 100% of the time.
The other half of the development team (Wouter Groenewold) forced me to go to WordCamp Europe, so I couldn’t say no. At this particular WordCamp, Mike Schroeder gave a talk about how to contribute to core, which he got into that year before. This uncluttered the fog that was mystifying how to get started, so I did and got my first core patch in in November 2014.

I got introduced to Anton at WordCamp Europe, which has brought me (in part) to try to get a job at Yoast.
