Timthumb would be theme side not plugin side. The fix is fairly easy to any theme that does have it however most won’t and use featured images / built in WordPress functions that do similar things.

You can use as much or as little of BuddyPress as you want. So yes you can just use the membership components – avatar, profile, sign up.

If you want it considered to be part of the BuddyPress core then filing an enhancement ticket is usually the best route.

There are still some rough edges I think are currently being smoothed over … that being one of them. I’m sure it will all get resolved soon though. 1.5 beta is probably taking up some time currently too 🙂

I’ve not explored it but if I was tackling this from a theme view I think you’d be looking to do a template switch. What I mean is if group name is x show x template, if y show y template. That’d be the first step I’d suggest.

Hmm something doesn’t quite sound right there. Just as a sanity check are you testing using the default theme with noi plugins bar BuddyPress?

Hmm guess it may be time then for you to do the old “remove plugins turn one by one on”. I know it can be a pain but that may be required.

Are you using any plugins aside from BuddyPress? If so what happens when they are removed?

Also do you have perhaps a link to your site and can you look in your error logs for PHP if you can even ask your hosting company about […]

I don’t seem able to edit which is :(… however also a third part to question: do you mean activity showing on the front?

Do you just want a list of blog posts or posts from the network on the front?

I just tested this and whilst yes I can ‘see’ I can’t edit. I get this message:

“You must log in to access the page you requested.”

I’m not really sure about the ins and outs of what should / shouldn’t happen there […]
