About the issue, looks like the button is available only for group admins single_assignment.php#L54.
Can you make the user group administrator to test this?I don’t remember very well, but this is definitely wrong, and has to be fixed. Thanks for reporting back.

@kipprsnak1 Can you give us a link to the plugin. Sounds like an interesting plugin, but if we can see it we can better understand what you’re trying to do I think. Seems like there should be a better way.
