@sbrajesh, thank you for your suggestion. It works. However, we do need to send rich HTML emails. Is there a way we can configure BuddyPress’ custom instance of PHP Mailer to use our SMTP server?

Still the same. The actual recipient got the email but in the bcc nothing. Btw, i put that code in bp-custom.php

@djpaul I did what u suggested and I see now the custom email in wp-admin Emails. But I still get the same error in ‘bp_send_email’ function. I couldn’t figure out the reason. No code is added.
