my best suggestion is to try and reinstall WordPress and BuddyPress & bbPress manually via ftp.
If that doesn’t work, you’re best bet is to reinstall the most recent versions of those (before the upgrade of course) and then upload your most recent .sql backup via phpmyadmin to restore your site pre-upgrade.

Does not look like you’re using a BuddyPress compatible theme. The default TwentyTen theme is not BP compatible, out of the box.   The WPMU dev premium plug works … but, as near as I can figure, not better than other methods I’m trying.

It looks like the dev probably wrote it on Windows and it used upper case but when it went into the wordpress repo, it went in as all lower case. You have to change the case of the folders to BP-Group-Control for it to work. I didn’t want to just change the file in case […]
