    We solved the problem.. it had everything to do with a contact plugin (Contact Bank) which was interfering with the whole registration process. After deactivating the plugin it went back to normal and people actually receive an email (and see the registration successful page).

    Thanks a million for your answer! I already contacted the company which has the servers.. as we don’t receive any notification whatsoever. Hopefully it will be working perfectly quite soon.
