I’ve narrowed the problem down to the BuddyPress Sitewide Featured Posts plugin….

Hi,
I’m on WordPress 3.0 and the latest Buddypress. When I try to add a new site as a super administrator, the new site’s tables aren’t written to the database, though it is added as an entry to wp_blogs.
It works fine when Buddypress is disabled.
Any ideas where to look into fixing this?
Thanks. -

Using the wpmu_activate_user hook instead of bp_core_activated_user seems to work.

I’m using an LDAP plugin which I’ve customised. Maybe that’s the issue. Would that bypass the hook? I wonder if there’s a WordPress hook I should be using instead?
On first-time login, my LDAP setup creates a user and a user blog. -

Latest episode – removing the original fix, the jq function snippet, has fixed the jq.cookie errors. The original problem seems to be have been down to the RSS metabox.
Now I have the problem that the bp_core_activated_user hook doesn’t seem to be firing, so my welcome page isn’t working 🙁 -

I seem to have fixed it by commenting out the ‘Latest news from the author’ metabox. The problem with the RSS feed seems to be breaking the plugin (for me at least). Still getting the same errors re. jq.cookie, but they don’t seem to be fatal any more…

Are there any changes I could make to the plugin to avoid these clashes? I’m using WordPress 3.0, Buddypress 1.2.5.2 and the default theme, so I’m at a loss as to why it’s not working. I’ve tried disabling all the other plugins too, and using a different BP theme.

I have a similar problem. Adding the function jq code above allows my Welcome Pack admin page to load a bit further, but then it gets stuck at line 1054 in global.js, in bp_init_activity: jq.cookie( ‘bp-activity-oldestpage’, 1, {path: ‘/’} ); The error is ‘jq.cookie is not a function’ Any ideas for a fix? Thanks. (Strangely […]

Lemmy posted on the forum topic Users can't access blog theme options in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years, 5 months ago
Any ideas folks?
I’m happy to dig around in the code to find where menu options are filtered according to user status – but should I be looking at the individual themes, or a universal setting somewhere?
Thanks. -

Hi,
The themes are activated, and can be selected. The theme options menu entry doesn’t appear in the Appearance menu though. For example, with the ‘constructor’ theme, the ‘Customize’ menu entry doesn’t show. -

Hi, I’m testing WordPress 3 and Buddypress. I’d like users to be able to customize their blog themes, so I’ve added themes like constructor. Problem is, only the super admin. can see the theme options menu entry for any of the themes — even though the other users are administrators of their own blogs, they […]
