I decided to add “BuddyPress Registration Groups” plugin — but this doesn’t solve most of the issues but it’s a start.

Yep – I have it installed but I have students from last year that need to be moved out of one group and have new kids registering that are not getting into the correct ones … so I’m looking for a fast way to get things fixed (organized).

Is there a way to automatically add a new registrant to a particular group?

Also, how can I quickly add existing members – as in a checkbox – rather than having to add one at a time and having to know their ids?

You might try to disable all of the plugins then enable them one at a time to see which one is conflicting with the admin area. Also, if you have access to the error log files then you can check to see if a message is being written to the logs.

The layout is very nice. The colors are high contrast and the splash page is vibrant. You might move down the account and profile details to off-set them from the paragraph above.

Have you checked your php_value memory_limit value in your .htaccess file? You may need to increase it.

For Blog postings, you might try Glenn Slaven’s plugin. I haven’t tried it with WP 3.0. https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/friendfeed-comments/ You could also go with Disqus or Intense Debate … to synch comments in blog postings.
