Found the solution… seems to be a problem with non-english installations…

Solution: edit the wp-config.php file and add the keys generated here:
https://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1/salt/

Buddypress is now up and running…

I just erased everything from the server… new manual WP3.1.2 install, new mysql db… the blog by itself is working perfectly. Yes, it was installed using a webhost script… I’ll trash everything and begin the whole process again manually. Thanks for the help!

I have installed and reinstalled WP3.1.2 + BP 1.2.8 from scratch, so how would I know if its broken?
