| WordPress Origin Story | As I had a lot of interest in computers, after completion of my school education, I chose Information Technology as my career. After my B.Sc (Computer Science) and M.C.A, when I started working at my first job as a Survey Programmer, being very eager to choose the best technology for my career, I learned basics of many languages e.g.: C, C++, PHP, Java, C#, VB .net etc. I felt my interest in Java. I learnt J2EE and fortunately got a job in the same technology quite soon. I did a great job there. Then this company switched the technology of development to Groovy on Grails (Extended version of Java and its frameworks). Side by side I continued to learn PHP. And I got to know that every language is interesting in itself and we can choose any language to work on. Finally, when I learnt PHP to an advance level, I moved on to CakePHP and WordPress. CakePHP follows MVC structure, as Grails does, and these two are quite similar. So, I learned CakePHP very quickly and continued on WordPress side by side. Then one of my clients, for whom I worked on CakePHP, asked me to work on a project from scratch on WordPress. And I learned it so quickly that I created a responsive theme for him in just 15 hours with many widgets and plugins for sidebar and footers. It encouraged me a lot to work on WordPress more and more. I feel excited to work on WordPress and hope this feeling will remain same unless and until we get more exciting framework 🙂 Happy Working!!! |
