Dear Burtadsit,
Let me put it this way.
With IE6 I see a display that is 800px wide.
This is excatly what I want regardless of the browser I use.
In a previous installation I did some CSS modification to get the 800px width.
In general it was working well with Firefox and Chrome as well,
But “My Profile” (with its 4-column layout) still showed the old wide screen.
How/Where can I do the necessary width changes?
Is there a specific CSS for this page?
You will be helping me a lot if you have a solution for this.
I settled for Buddypress after trying out all the well-known social network softwares (inluding those with a price, like SocialGo). I think this is the best. I just can’t let it go on account of a display-width problem.
In reply to: first things firstDear John,
1. All my files now are virgins right now. I have not modified a line anywhere.
In my previous installation I had done some modification and thought it had somehow corrupted the alphabetical seraching. But it doesn’t work in the new installation too.
Can you please take a look at http://onlicone.com/cone/wordpress-mu/members ?
2. Yes, I meant Avatars. In my previous installation, friends who registered for test purpose had this problem — even after the uploaded avatar was successfully loaded and displayed correctly for hours or days.
In reply to: first things firstHI, Burtadsit,
I am using wordpress-mu-2.7 and Buddypress Combo.
In reply to: CSS Tweaking in BP Member ThemeDear Lance,
Talking about CSS, where could you modify the My profile page?
It\’s a bit different from other pages as it has 4 columns — at least it looks like so.
My problem precisely is that I want to resize my site to 800px width.
I was able to do this in genetal but My profile still shows a widescreen.
How I can handle this?
Btw, IE6 automatically gives me the desired with no modification in any file,
and I have noticed that there is specific CSS file for IE6.
So I was wondering whether copying ie6.css to some other file would give the 800px display in Firefox, Chrome, etc as well?
Can you help me?

Clicking a letter doesn’t show members whose name start with it.
It just displays:
Member Listing
No members matched the current filter.
In reply to: No CSS – Member & Home ThemeWith IE6, I see buddypress the way I want to see it. Width 800px

With Firefox and Chrome I get a wider screen.
How to make the width 800px regardless of the browser used.
