You should paste what’s in the walkthrough link to the bottom (below all other styles) of your theme’s style.css If that doesn’t work, need site URI. Got to see what’s wrong.

– Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and check if issue is resolved. If not,
– Have you tried re-uploading BuddyPress manually to wp-content/plugins/ i.e., via FTP/cpanel/etc.?

Your theme’s ajax conflicts with BP default theme/template pack which is required for BP components. Contact theme developer about this issue.
