@charlietech is this happening even with bp-default theme and all plugins deactivated except BuddyPress? Or with a custom theme or plugins which have not been updated to latest BP version?

@tommycopeland BuddyPress Like has not been updated since BP 1.2. Deactivate that plugin, log out, then log in again. Then check if you can create group forum topics.
