– What’s the difference between your problematic installation and your working installs?
– Have you checked whether you have remaining code/script in bp-custom.php or mu-plugins folder?
– Is that a new/old install on standard WP or WP multisite? Are you developing locally or on webhost?

@strokahontas Change to the Twenty Fourteen theme and you’ll see the size of the buttons styled by BP CSS. So the “tiny” part could be from your own theme’s styles.

– wp_bp_groups list of groups created with ID assigned to each
– wp_bp_groups_groupmeta with ID of your hidden group, you’ll see date group created, if has forums etc.

@shibbymintay Strange. What theme are you using? Have tested BP with many themes and this is the first time this issue has been reported. Or, do you have any script/code in bp-custom.php, functions.php, or plugin which works on the adminbar?

except when Buddypress is activated the site’s navigation bar which is at the top of the page and everything above it is cut off.

@shibbymintay Not clear what you mean by that. Do you mean everything visually “below” the admin bar is gone?

@ubiq00 Ask your hosting company if they can host BuddyPress installations and point them to the codex link above. You might need to upgrade as some shared hosting plans can’t handle BP.

Since you’re new to WordPress and BuddyPress, might I suggest before upgrading hosting plans, that you test WordPress/BuddyPress via local install through XAMPP…[Read more]

@jaciando1 change to one of the WP Default themes – Twenty xxx – and check if issue is resolved. If not, deactivate all plugins except BP to find out which plugin is cause such issue.

How to use the BP default stylesheet for other themes?

@leonyipa Other themes could in all probability have different HTML tags and CSS classes/ID’s, so the chances that that stylesheet would work on other themes would be almost nil.

@swoopswoop To clarify, do you mean a physical subdirectory, i.e., you created a subdirectory folder, or do you mean a secondary site of a WP multisite installation with subdirectory structure?
