It might be a case of a theme that needs to be updated. Change to bp-default theme, clear cache, and check if issue is corrected.

What theme are you using? Try changing to bp-default theme and see if issue is corrected.

The latest version of BuddyPress is 1.5.2 not 1.5.3 and yes, you should have WP 3.3 installed.

You can add a link to the logo.
e.g. you have <img src="something.jpg" />
add the link like so:

This was a plugin for BP 1.2.3/WPMU 2.9.2 and is no longer maintained unless someone updates it.

Re-upload single.php file of bp-default theme, clear cache, and see if issue is corrected.
