Permissions errors more often appear with incomplete auto-upgrades. Manually upload via FTP/cpanel WordPress files and all plugins you have recently upgraded. Clear cache.

Backup and make notes of the revisions you made so when you next have to upgrade BP Template Pack plugin, you’ll know what changes you’ll need to do again.

Conflict in plugin or theme. Please change to bp-default theme and deactivate plugins except BuddyPress.

Even if plugins/theme are up to date, deactivate all plugins and change theme to bp-default. Clear cache. See if issue is corrected with the change.
