– Did you check your database if bbPress forum tables were created?
– Did you check “enable forums” in Group Admin settings? Must do this for every group to allow group forums.
– Otherwise WP/BP versions and details about your installation please.

BP/WP versions? Make sure you have GD library installed in your server – ask webhost tech support if you have one.

Is WP install working correctly before activating BuddyPress?
https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/Did you install WP via fantastico? Start from scratch and manually upload WP files, create database and install. Those quickie WP installation scripts are not compatible with BP.

On my end, I’ve seen this happen with an outdated BP theme (including bp-template pack) which still use bp_member_add_friend_button. Seriously needs updating.

Usually add to the functions.php file of the active theme. So if you’re using a WP Theme with BP Template Pack, then it would be referring to your WP theme’s functions.php

Looks like you installed WP in community subfolder. Unfortunately, you haven’t uploaded all the WordPress files and folder required to make it work. Before installing BuddyPress, make sure that your WordPress install is working well
