Check if your theme’s footer.php has the wp_footer() hook. If not add it to just before closing

Backup database of whole installation and backup server WP/BP files and folders – don’t forget to get backup of .htaccess and wp-config.php file in root as well. If you’re keeping same domain name and just pointing it to new webhost, it’s a simple process. If you’re changing domain name and getting new webhost. You’d need […]

You need to be more specific about which two sites you are trying to sync member database. Two WP sites, easy to do. External software like phpBB, Gallery2, etc. require plugins to bridge membership with WP site.

I’m getting a different result. Never fear, you can download BuddyPress Template Pack from wp.org – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-template-pack/

@boonebgorges – “As for BP pages as WP pages ā that part is still a little in flux (if Iām understanding the trunk correctly)” I’m sure you understand the trunk much more than I do š Per my last test some weeks ago in dev install, the rendering of components as WP Pages made me think […]

“the function where by if your are member it just displays the group or if you are the admin of the group it displays the group setting and so on” That’s how it is already set up actually. If I didn’t get what you meant though, you can also use https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-restrict-group-creation/ or check source code […]

“This is running on a yahoo small business hosting plan.”
Have you asked them if they have successfully installed BuddyPress before? I think you should. I have seen others use yahoo for single WP in wp.org forums, but never wpmu/multisite much less BuddyPress. -
mercime posted on the forum topic After removing Buddypress plugin lookup continues to search for Activity page… in the group Installing BuddyPress: 15 years, 9 months ago
Please clarify, as I’m getting this from your post above: That you have one WPMU installation. You installed BP in e.g. blog_id_2 and then removed BP there and now pointed it to another user’s blog in e.g. blog_id_4. – Did you add/change wp-config.php to point to new blog_id_4? define ( ‘BP_ROOT_BLOG’, $blog_id ); so e.g. […]

mercime posted on the forum topic Unique Unique Problem – Images Not showing in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 9 months ago
@joamos the best thing is to isolate the image upload problem first. Deactivate BuddyPress and other BP plugins. If image upload process does not work in WordPress, it won’t work in BuddyPress. So upload images to posts in main blog and sub-blogs with BP deactivated and see if media appears in main blog and in sub-blogs. […]

From the point you deleted BuddyPress plugins, themes, and database tables, it’s all WordPress now. If something’s wrong with your WP Theme, reupload your backup of WP themes, that’s all there is to it.

Looks like you’re missing admin and theme stylesheets.
Re-upload WP 3.0 files and folders via FTP or cpanel. Then re-upload BuddyPress plugin as well. Refresh browser and check if bad behavior mentioned above still happens. -

https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/jet-quickpress/ Which, even if you do not allow creation of sub-blogs will allow users to post to main blog – in effect making the single blog a multi-author site. You either set all new users as Contributors at least (you need to approve each post before it gets published) or as Authors (users get to […]

@intimez I tested https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/jet-quickpress/ on WPMU 2.9.2 and WP 3.0 with BP 1.2.5.2 and it’s working as advertised, it is BP compatible. In addition, if blog creation is enabled, there is a dropdown for which blog/subblog you want your post to be published in. I haven’t tried One Quick Post yet.

@deanjrobinson – cool functions, almost as cool as the Fluency Admin plugin š
I would like to suggest adding categories to your Groups i.e. Help Groups for Plugins, Help Group for Themes, etc. for better organization.
Cheers. - Load More
