@damian2001, change to bp-default theme, you will see the bp-admin bar across all sites like the one at http://testbp.org/
Double check dashboard – BuddyPress > General Settings > Hide admin bar for logged out users?:> should be NO

Deactivate BuddyPress plugin by renaming its folder in server via FTP/cpanel.

It may be the theme you’re using. Change theme to bp-default theme; and if behavior above persists, deactivate WP and BP -dependent plugins and see how it goes.

Don’t they have support forums or contact form there where you could ask theme devs or community members who are using the theme whether any have made it work with BuddyPress or if the theme required some tweaks to make it work? I remember the time when users of Hybrid theme framework made it work […]

What @nahummadrid said – those blogs set to privacy settings “Allow visitors but not visible to Google” and above – if you’re using more privacy options plugin where you have three more privacy settings – won’t be seen in Blogs directory.

There is a learning curve. I recommend you start reading up and getting involved in BuddyPress and WordPress forums. Remember Google/search is your friend.

@ronio, I wish 🙂 But no, it’s not possible yet. There are developer/s who might be rolling out plugin/s for BP in different multisites but probably not until after BP 1.3 stable is out.

In the meantime, it’s easy to get members to subscribe to blog https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/subscribe2/ so perhaps that could be integrated to the Blogs list directory page

@rogercoathup I just checked their forums some weeks ago or so to look over simplepress as an alternative and found this post. I have not tested this as I opted to go with global forums. Other BP related topics in their forums as well.

Sure, if you are not going to give free blogs/subblogs to members then just disable Blog Tracking component via Dashboard > BuddyPress > Component
