What @piphut said. Restore database backup and reupload BP 1.2.3 files and folders.

Was your WP install working before you installed BuddyPress? Did you change Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks from default to other structure and save it?

A number of ways depending on how you want it done:
1. Post on member’s status box https://buddypress.org/community/members/bluebird2/
2. @ mentions of member’s username appears in member’s profile activity area
3. BP Wire Plugin – ala Facebook Wall

@hkcharlie – You do not have to create subdirectory nor upload bbPress to get the BP group forums going, Go to dashboard – BuddyPress > Forums Setup – and install by following instructions. bb-config.php will be automatically generated.

What @hnla said roadmap = BP 1.3 with WP 3.0 . No one said BP 1.2.4.1 is compatible with WP 3.0beta/RC. Sure you can test it, but there are no guarantees. @jamiewarren09 – that’s not specific enough. So WP 2.9.2 and BP 1.2.4.1 – stable versions of WP and BP. Did you delete that directory members you created already? So now deactivate all plugins including BP-dependent plugins and activate BuddyPress only and see how it goes.

You should not create a directory “members” in your server, delete it. What WP and BP versions are you using? Help us help you.
