I was working as Frontend Developer in a company and my job was to convert given PSD into HTML/CSS based layout. It was the year 2011 when the company suddenly asked me to convert given PSD into a Working WordPress theme in 3 days, first, I was very frustrated and I was yelling in my mind “that’s the job of our core developer, why they gave it to me”.
But as you know life is tough and you gotta save your job, so I used my basic PHP knowledge and googled some tutorials, explored WP docs and watched some YouTube videos and I find WP very interesting. Not only interesting I fell in love with it while coding my first theme.
I completed my task 1 day before the deadline given by the company, after reviewing my work boss gave me a bonus + promotion and this was starting off my never-ending journey with WordPress.
