Brajesh – I will have no choice but to make adjustments to those functions. I have enabled multi blog mode because I have multiple blogs! I just control them all, that’s all. Thank you for all your help.

beautiful, Brajesh. Now I just need to figure out how to remove all the sub-sites when
bp_loggedin_user_domain() & bp_displayed_user_domain() are called
($bp->loggedin_user->domain is where that $value is set) for example

Use Case: I do not allow blog creation by users on one of my BP sites. I DO, however, make use of several blogs for other purposes on the site. For example, blog ID #2 is an “announcements” blog. Users don’t know or care that they are actually looking at an actually different blog than […]

@DJPaul Your vigilant moderation prompted me to go back and look at post #1 where you, in fact, state that this is for problems associate with the new BP design. I would suggest tweaking the Topic title to reflect as much as it can cause a bit of confusion as to the real nature of the […]

Derek – While I am equally frustrated at the absence of an events plugin, I am personally of the opinion that even without and events plugin, I could never switch back to those other platforms that are just so frustrating and can’t stack up to BP. (read Joomla, Ning, Drupal, elgg, etc.)

Mike Pratt posted on the forum topic Plugin authors: How are you planning to use the new bp.org? in the group Miscellaneous: 14 years, 7 months ago
What I am most excited about is that this new environment will give Andy some seriously valuable feedback about human behavior in a BP world. TestBP is not about getting the most out of a community..it’s just a test bed. BP.org, however, needs to function like a well oiled BP-machine and, while I do like […]

Two points: When I clicked on an update via the “View” link by @boone -> https://buddypress.org/community/activity/p/267 I was redirected to -> https://buddypress.org/community/activity. 2. I went to this forum to post this reply and had to go all the way to the last page just to find the reply field. It dawned on me that it’s like […]

@apeatling Good work on the evolution of bp.org itself, Andy. I think the lessons learned on user behavior here (as opposed to testbp) will prove quite insightful. PS Is there a discussion here somewhere on the subtleties and differences b/t “follow” and “friend” I imagine you will ignite a firestorm of questions given your implementation of the former

This is a nice option and, perhaps could use even more refinement as it is not as black and white as Greg suggests on @Brajesh‘s site. Yes, the way @Andy makes use of groups as plugin vehicles here on bp.org does create the problem @greg illustrates but there are other use cases where you’d want to keep it […]

This is not trivial. Heck, Facebook just months ago got around to it.
-> Allow users to reply to the email drop copy messages they receive. This will probably have to be done on a “by type” basis eg private messages, forum replies, @mentions, friend requests, etc.
Unique ID’s will need to be generated and matched on a per message basis and tons of…[Read more]
