Find this:
<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
Then put this right above and change the cat name to the cat you want shown:
<?php query_posts('&category_name=featured&showposts=10'); ?>

If you are using Citizen Kane, BuddyPress widget theme or BP columns I’ve updated them to 1.3, fixed numerous bugs and will upload them as soon as BP 1.3 gets released.
BuddyPress Mobile is getting a new look and that will be out soon as well.

modemlooper posted on the forum topic Mobile Theme Toggle in the group BuddyPress Mobile: 15 years ago
Using a mobile detect plugin. child theme doesn’t work unless theme files are in WP-content/themes. The current plugin is a full theme. I want to use a child based on BP-default so upgrades are easier and plugins work better

Quick glance, haven’t had a chance to go through it. I’m debating if this will be a plugin in the future or just a theme. Can’t get the theme to work as a child theme if the files are not in wp-content/themes. Making it a child theme helps with updates and plugins.

modemlooper posted on the forum topic How to add new Group Category in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years ago
There isn’t a plugin for this but the groups tag plugin kinda adds this functionality. You basically choose tags for groups and it gives you a tag cloud. If you only allow specific tags to show you can control what groups there are.
I may fork the tags plugin into a real groups type plugin.

modemlooper posted on the forum topic WordPress vs BuddyPress:which tool to use for photography site in the group Requests & Feedback: 15 years ago
BuddyPress adds extended profiles and groups to a WordPress install. What you want is doable but it wouldn’t be out of the box. You’d have to do some customization.

The pages section uses https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_list_pages You can choose to exclude the pages you do not want listed: find the code below in either front.php or home.php depending if you are using a custom home page on your regular site. Then you just add the number of the pages you want excluded from the pages menu. […]
