modemlooper posted on the forum topic Why using pages for BP sections is a bad idea in the group Requests & Feedback: 14 years, 11 months ago
The reason I suggest something along the lines of post types is to allow adding new “components” so BP would install activity – forums – groups etc content types and then a theme could add it’s own. Allowing more individualized networks. BP could be nothing more than allowing front end editing of post types / […]

Should be post type. Then BP could use post type templates for output. Create a group post type and it will add URL.

modemlooper posted on the forum topic Buddypress for Dummies – is it worth it, or is the best place to learn online? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years, 11 months ago
“There is no listing and explanation of functions. There is no explanation of hooks, actions or filters.” LOL, it’s called “dummies” meaning for people who don’t even know how to install WordPress let alone BP. The Dummies book is great for an absolute beginner. If you have moderate experience with WordPress, then no, the dummies […]

modemlooper posted on the forum topic Why was the BP-Default CSS required by WP theme reviewers not included in 1.2.7??? in the group BP-Default: 14 years, 11 months ago
These were critical and would have taken next to nothing to add to the default.css file. Not one theme in the repo can be updated. This has already been too long in my opinion.

Title says is all. @DJpaul
Heres the tagged CSS in trac that does not include the CSS @karmatosed and I suggested be added so child themes can be submitted.

modemlooper posted on the forum topic Why no good buddypress WP Themes? in the group Creating & Extending: 14 years, 11 months ago
If you used the template pack plugin and BP looks “awful” with your WP theme it’s because the template pack is missing most of the CSS styling. It’s a bare bones to get BP to work inside WP themes. Your statement that there are no good BP themes is flawed in that any WP theme […]

That is the BP classic theme. If you download an old version of BP you can get the code out of that theme but you may have to edit code to work properly.

Search, there is a plugin that allows you to set up default settings for newly activated WPMU blogs. I can’t think of the name but it’s out there.

I back stepped the whole thing into a child theme. Updates should be easy and it should work with almost all plugins. You will maybe need to fix a few CSS tweaks to get all plugins to work.
You can check it out here.
